SPOTLIGHT

The T. Boone Pickens Foundation focuses grants to organizations that operate in its core giving categories (see “About TBPF”). The current partner spotlight is Grace Presbyterian Village, which for more than forty years has set the standard of excellence in retirement living, providing its residents and their families with the finest amenities and services available, as well as providing a complete continuum of healthcare options.
The nationally recognized Christian retirement community, located just minutes from downtown Dallas, is nestled among the beautiful hills and trees of Dallas County.
A $2 million Pickens Foundation grant to Grace Presbyterian’s “ Envision the Future” campaign is helping fund aesthetic, functional and energy efficiency upgrades to the legendary seniors campus.
Spacious cottage homes, walking paths, tranquil streams and 27 acres of natural scenic beauty are home to several levels of independent retirement living, assisted living, nationally-recognized Alzheimer’s care, and nursing care that is consistently rated among the highest in the state by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
In addition, Grace Presbyterian Village provides residents with life enrichment activities that include an indoor pool and fitness center, spa services, game rooms and daily social activities.
“The T. Boone Pickens Foundation gift is allowing us to near our fundraising goals and even further improve the quality of facilities and services we provide,” Grace Presbyterian Village president and chief executive officer Godwin Dixon says.
“This gift from the Pickens Foundation has meant so much to us all and made such a dramatic difference for the campus,” notes Dixon. “Our residents, family members, and staff are very pleased with the improvements. The impact on our ability to further raise the standards for senior living, empowering our residents to have a fuller life, has been significant. We are extremely grateful for Mr. Pickens generous support.”
